Call this an insurance policy with tangible benefits, but you would be surprised to know how many houses have faulty or no smoke detectors. More than half of all smoke related deaths could have been avoided had working smoke detectors been properly involved. An increasing number of households have alarm systems and smoke detection systems that dial into a central alarm number upon signal. Carbon Monoxide, a reatively odorless gas, can easily go undetected. These risks can be prevented!

Safety service offerings

  • Central Alarm Systems – This is the best way to keep you home and office safe from fire and intruders. The low cost is negligible in comparison to the cost of a potential loss. Additionally, there are significant insurance benefits from installing central alarm systems. When an alarm is signaled, a central monitoring service is dialed. If they are unable to get in touch with you within a number of seconds, they alert the local fire and police who respond instantly.
  • Smoke Detectors – PowerBees will install individual smoke detectors or smoke detectors that are wired together and call into a Central Alarm system upon signal. Individual smoke detectors that are battery operated have a tendency to fail, and PowerBees recommends that smoke detectors be tied in to your electrical circuitry at the very least. However, Fire Departments respond instantly when alerted by a Central Alarm monitoring company, and save lives.
  • Carbon Monoxide Monitoring – In many states, Carbon Monoxide monitors are now required. Carbon Monoxide is a silent odorless killer that takes its victims without warning. We will help you identify the most prudent locations to install these inexpensive devices.
  • Radon Testing – Like Carbon Monoxide, Radon is a silent odorless killer that seeps into your home or office from the ground below. PowerBees will help you identify radon and eradicate it.
  • Remote Monitoring (camera installation and remote viewing) – As the protection of our assets and family becomes easier and the costs are reduced, there are a variety of Remote Monitoring options available to ensure that your children are properly cared for in your absence and your property is not invaded. Devices can be installed quickly and easily to allow monitoring from anywhere in the world securely via the internet.
  • Child Safety – PowerBees will review your home or office layout and recommend the installation devices, e.g. gates and modern outlets that may protect your child from inconceivable accidents. The average homeowner often overlooks a variety of dangers that could cause permanent damage or loss of life.
  • Electrical System Assessments - PowerBees provides a fee based service that assesses your electrical systems to help determine where vulnerabilities may exist. Any fees paid will be credited against future PowerBees services that help rectify detected problems.

Fire Safety Tips

  • Replace or repair loose or frayed cords on all electrical devices.
  • Avoid running extension cords across doorways or under carpets.
  • In homes with small children, unused wall sockets and extension-cord receptacles should have plastic safety covers.
  • Consider having additional circuits or outlets added by a qualified electrician so you do not have to use extension cords.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions for plugging an appliance into a receptacle outlet.
  • Avoid overloading outlets. Plug only one high-wattage appliance into each receptacle outlet at a time.
  • If outlets or switches feel warm, shut off the circuit and have them checked by an electrician.
  • When possible, avoid the use of "cube taps" and other devices that allow the connection of multiple appliances into a single receptacle.
  • Place lamps on level surfaces, away from things that can burn and use bulbs that match the lamp's recommended wattage.
