Water Damage Repair

Let PowerBees help you recover from floods, fires and other indoor disasters. It takes a matter of hours for mold to start developing after flooding. See Air and Water Quality and Contaminant Removal.

  • Fast Carpet Drying – PowerBees uses special equipment and floor fans to dry carpets and area rugs. We will decontaminate if required to prevent and remove mold. Please refer to our Mold Removal services.
  • Fire, Smoke & Water Damage – We use special equipment to scrub and decontaminate walls with industrial strength cleansers that are environmentally friendly. We will replace carpets, walls, windows and fixtures if needed using licensed PowerBees contractors and technicians. After the floors are cleaned, we will utilize a fire sealant to eliminate odors.
  • Flood & Water Cleanup – PowerBees will repair damage from floods or leaking in your office or home. Our licensed contractors and technicians can quickly restore your office or home back to its original state and make it safer while at the same time, protecting it from future disasters. Mold removal and bacteria treatments are an integral part of this service. Typically, flood damage repair requires two visits: One to extract the water and install special equipment to dry out the area. The return visit – often times the next day – requires disinfection and decontamination.
  • Floor Fans – Floor fans are used to dry areas damaged by floods and leaking. It is an important service and helps prevent and remove mold. See Contaminant and Mold Removal.
  • Pet Odor Removal and Stench elimination – We use environmentally friendly chemicals to eliminate pet stains, decontaminate and remove pet odors. Specifically, PowerBees use a special enzyme based formula to eliminate the vile odors produced by urine, skunk sprays, smoke damage and other biological and non-biological entities.
  • Stain Removal – PowerBees use a variety of environmentally friendly chemicals to remove stains. Mostly, we employ the use of a natural enzyme based soil lifter to break down tough stain and confine the source for easy removal. When we use chemicals, your health and the environment are our primary concerns.
  • Water Extraction – We have special equipment to extract water from flooded rooms and basements. We also recommend the use of our Fast Drying service to prevent the growth of mold. See Contaminant and Mold Removal.

Water damage strategies to prevent mold within 24 to 48 hours

Books and papers

  • For non-valuable items, discard books and papers
  • Photocopy valuable/important items, discard originals
  • Freeze (in frost-free freezer or meat locker) or freeze-dry

Carpet and backing - dry within 24-48 hours

  • Remove water with water extraction vacuum
  • Reduce ambient humidity levels with dehumidifier
  • Accelerate drying process with fans

Ceiling tiles

  • Discard and replace

Insulation

  • Discard and replace

Upholstered furniture

  • Remove water with water extraction vacuum
  • Accelerate drying process with dehumidifiers, fans, and/or heaters
  • May be difficult to completely dry within 48 hours. If the piece is valuable, you may wish to consult a restoration/water damage professional who specializes in furniture

Wallboard (Drywall and gypsum board)

  • May be dried in place if there is no obvious swelling and the seams are intact. If not, remove, discard, and replace
  • Ventilate the wall cavity, if possible

Windows and Drapes

  • Follow laundering or cleaning instructions recommended by the manufacturer

Wood Surfaces

  • Remove moisture immediately and use dehumidifiers, gentle heat, and fans for drying (Use caution when applying heat to hardwood floors)
  • Treated or finished wood surfaces may be cleaned with mild detergent and clean water and allowed to dry
  • Wet paneling should be pried away from wall for drying
